Proposal Form

Documentary Proposal

1.
Topic

The natural effects on an average teenager experiencing sleep deprivation

2.
Important questions that need an answer (three or more)
·        What are the actual effects on sleep deprivation?
·        Do teenagers in comparison to other ages need more or less sleep to function?
·        How the mind functions differ due to a lack of sleep
3.
Three talking heads (who I will interview formally)
·        An organized sleep specialist interview
·        A public opinion to gain overall thoughts
·        Various interviews on the subject (Liam)
4.
Voice-over narration (what I will say about the topic through a narrator)

A series of facts sourced from the internet will be compared to the results in which we receive from our tests. This is to see how relatable our results are with the other facts gathered from the internet, in order to see how farfetched or accurate some of the information on the internet is.
Illustration of what is going on throughout the documentary will be provided in order to supply the viewer with the best possible understanding of what’s going on.

5.
On-location footage (what I will show while narrating)

All footage will be shot within the perimeter of the subject’s house.
A brief list of what will be filmed.
·        Short interview of the subject so that the viewer’s gain an understanding of his personality before the test begins
·        A run around of the setting (caravan at the bottom of the garden)
·

6.
The Twist(something cool to impress audience)

The way we plan the twist is by measuring the reactions before and after the test, in order to highlight the difference in character and function.

7.
How I plan to “get it done”.

By sticking to the documentary outline Jake, Freddie and I plan to make a successful production on sleep deprivation. By including strong facts and statistics we will show the serious side to our documentary, as it could be taken as a joke due to the common nature of this subject.
